JACKSON, Tenn. - The Union University women's basketball team posted a 93-35 victory over Brescia University Monday night at Fred DeLay Gymnasium/David Blackstock Court. Union improved to 4-2 overall, while Brescia dropped to 2-8 on the season.Â
Union led 42-16 at the half and had its best quarter of the night in the third, adding 32 more points. Union's biggest lead was 58 points three different times in the fourth quarter, including the final.Â
In the win, senior post player
Jaelencia Williams needed just four of her team-high 16 points to reach 1,500 points for her career.Â
Twelve of Union's 14 player players scored in the game.
Ashtyn Baker scored 12 and Bailey August added 11 points to complete the players in double figures.
Emily Beard Dunnagan and
Samariah Thompson added nine points each.
Kieli Robinson and
Sadie Knee led with six rebounds each.Â
Union shot 57 percent from the field, 38 percent (6-16) from 3-point range, and 62 percent (13-21) from the free throw line.Â
Brescia was led by Riley Collins with eight points. The Bearcats shot 28 percent from the field, 11 percent (2-18) from long range, and 58 percent (7-12) from the foul line.Â
