WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - The Union University volleyball team lost three matches at the 2021 South Region Crossover, pitting the Sunshine State Conference teams versus the Gulf South Conference teams.
Union lost Friday night to Barry, 3-1 (26-24, 22-25, 25-19, 25-16). Union then played two matches Saturday. Union played No. 17 Nova Southeastern, a team with only one loss on the season. Nova topped Union 25-19, 25-20, 18-25, 25-12). Then finally, one of the last matches in the classic, Lynn topped Union 3-0 (25-15, 25-10, 25-22).
Union returns to GSC action next Friday and Saturday with two more road games. Union plays at Auburn Montgomery Friday, before taking on nationally ranked and GSC leading West Florida, Saturday.
Union has just seven conference matches remaining on the season, three at home. Union is currently tied for forth in the GSC standings with AUM at 6-2 in league play. The top eight teams advance to the GSC Tournament in November.
