CARROLLTON, Ga. – The Union University women's soccer team came away with the victory at the University West Georgia. Union Improved to 3-9 overall and 3-7 in the Gulf South Conference. West Georgia fell to 5-6 overall and 3-5 in conference play.

This game was a defensive matchup between both teams. Although being out shot 14-2 the Lady Bulldog's defense prevailed, resulting in a scoreless first half of play. Finally, in the 66th minute of play, Union's center back Hanna Patterson drew a foul resulting in a penalty kick. Patterson connected on the PK putting the Lady Bulldogs up 1-0. That one goal was all the scoring for the day as Union recorded the shutout victory.

Union was out shot in the match 24-6 and 6-3 in shots on goal.

Hannah Patterson and Lilly Ludwig both led the team in shots with two, while Grace Rodriguez and Rachel Shane both added one. Bryson Lee recorded six saves in the match.

Up next for Union will be a GSC matchup at home against Delta State University. This match is set to take place Friday, October 22nd at 5 p.m. The game is also Community Night, including free admission, the Buster Soccer Bobblehead giveaway, and a chance for a fan to win $15,000.
