JACKSON, Tenn. - The Union University women's soccer team lost 2-0 to No. 13 University of West Florida. Union fell to 2-3 over and 1-1 in the Gulf South Conference. West Florida improved to 4-2 on the season and 1-1 in league play.
The teams spent the afternoon playing in temperatures over 90 for the entire match. West Florida dominated the possession and shots. UWF out-shot Union 16-1 in both halves. It was 32-2 for the game including 14-0 in shots on goal. West Florida had possession for 68 percent of the match.
West Florida scored the first goal in the 27th minute of play on a shot from Kendall Bobbitt. UWF led 1-0 at the half. In the second half, Anita Danielsdaughter added the second goal.
Union's two shots came from
Addison Dunn and
Holly Trisdale.
Rylee Iorio had six saves in the first half in goal, while
Anna Venckus had six saves in the second half in goal for Union.
