CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Union University women's soccer team lost to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga 5-0 Sunday afternoon in the season's final match before Gulf South Conference play. Union moves to 1-2 on the season. UT Chattanooga improved to 5-2-2.
UT Chattanooga's Osa Iyare scored the game winner in the 9th minute, Hollie Massey had the assist. The Mocs struck again with a goal from Faith Gober in the 18th minute. UT Chattanooga rounded out their scoring in the first half on a goal from Chloe Arnold in the 31st minute. UT Chattanooga out shot Union 14-2 in the first half. Union goalkeeper
Anna Venckus logged three saves in the first half.
In the second half, the Mocs added a fourth goal sixteen minutes into the half on a shot from Emily Szymanski. Then in the 89th minute, UT Chattanooga added a goal from Maddie Burman to set the final at 5-0. Union freshman goalkeeper
Rylee Iorio saw the first action of her career as she subbed in for Venckus at halftime. Iorio made six saves on 21 shots faced.
In the match, UT Chattanooga out shot Union 35-5, including 14-3 in shots on goal. The Mocs also led 12-1 in corner kicks. Both teams recorded six fouls.

Holly Trisdale led Union with two shots.
Candace Haney,
Natalie Nagy, and
Madison Wirth all added one shot.
Up next for Union is their first home match of the season as they open Gulf South Conference play against Spring Hill Friday, September 27 at 5:00 p.m.
