NEW ORLEANS - The Union University women's cross country team is ranked fifth in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Union is down one spot from last week's No. 4 ranking. Union was ranked as high as No. 3 in the preseason poll. 

Union is coming off a good race, finishing second in the Alabama Huntsville Open. Union finished second behind Florida State. Freshman Chloe Veilleuz finished seventh in the race. 

Union is listed among five GSC schools in the region rankings including Lee (1), Mississippi College (6), Alabama Huntsville (8), and Montevallo (9). 

Up next for Union will be the Queens Royal Challenge in Charlotte, N.C., Friday, October 11.
