ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Union University volleyball team spent the second straight weekend of the season in Arkansas. Union played four matches in the Reddie-Tiger Invitational. The Lady Bulldogs went 0-4, dropping their season record to 0-8 to start the season.
Friday's matches included a 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-19) loss versus Dallas Baptist University. Union then lost to one of the host teams, Henderson State University 3-2 (25-19, 22-25, 21-25, 25-15, 15-13).
Saturday's matches including a 3-1 (27-25, 23-25, 25-17, 25-15) loss versus the other host, Ouachita Baptist University. Union closed out their weekend with a 3-1 (25-18, 18-25, 25-18, 25-20) loss to Southwest Baptist University.
Meghan Delaney led Union with 39 kills over the four matches.
Abbie Rahn added 36 kills,
Christa Karns and
Delaney Peterson added 27 kills, and
Kristen Bukowsky added 26 kills. Bukowsky and Peterson led with 13 blocks, and Karns added 10 blocks.
Claressa Kohler led with 35 digs, while
Kristen Goggin and Delaney led with four aces each.
Union's Rahn and Karns both earned all-tournament honors.
Up next for Union will be their first home match of the season, Tuesday, September 4 at 6 p.m. versus Bethel University.
