OAKLAND CITY, Ind. - The Union men's soccer team was defeated by Oakland City University, 2-1 in their game on Saturday.
The Oakland City Mighty Oaks scored first in the 15th minute by Jack Cookson assisted by Emilio Uzcategui.
Union quickly responded four minutes later with a goal by
Paul Langford, assisted by
Andre Silva.
Neither team scored again in the first half.
Oakland City attacked early into the second half with another goal by Jack Cookson assisted by Ryan Blair in the 51st minute. Then again two minutes later, the Mighty Oaks scored their final goal with a shot from Patrick Donnell assisted by Jack Cookson.
The Bulldogs out shot the Mighty Oaks twelve to nine.
Andre Silva led Union with four shots, three on goal, followed by
Paul Langford with three shots, with three on goal.
Union's
Casper Nyberg recorded four saves, and Oakland City's Colton Bland recorded six saves.
Up next for Union is an away game against Christian Brothers University on Sunday, September 17 at 4:15 p.m.
