Box Score LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The Union University volleyball team fell to the University of West Alabama Tigers 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-23) Monday night. The Lady Bulldogs have dropped to 12-12 overall and 2-7 in the Gulf South Conference. West Alabama is now 14-9 overall and 6-1 in conference play.
Union received the first point of the game and then battled back and forth with West Alabama for four points. UWA then proceeded to go on a 5-0 run. After their run, the Lady Lions controlled the rest of the set.
In the second set, UWA jumped to a 4-0 lead before an attack error gave the ball back to Union. The teams battled points for points but Union was never able to catch back up to the Lady Lions and ended the set 25-19.
The third set started off with back and forth play, until UWA hit their stride with a couple of 4-0 runs. The Lady Lions finished off the game 25-23.
Leaders for Union were
Abbie Rahn with eight kills,
Bre Carlton with 25 assists and
Taylor Chiaro with eight digs.
Up next for the Lady Bulldogs is another road game to the University of North Alabama, October 20 at 7 p.m.
