West Alabama tops Union women's soccer 3-0

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - University of West Alabama defeated Union University women's soccer team 3-0 Friday night. The Lady Bulldogs are now 3-8 overall and 3-7 in the Gulf South Conference. The West Alabama Tigers improved to 6-6 overall and 4-5 in conference play. 

West Alabama made their first attack four minutes into the game with a goal by Marie Dreezen assisted by Anele Komani. 

TeMia Pride scored the Tigers second goal of the match seventeen minutes later. 

The score at the end of the first half was 2-0. 

Both teams had six shots a piece at the end of the first half. 

The second half was played evenly until the eightieth minute, when Anele Komani scored West Alabama's last goal of the game assisted by Chelsea Commings. 

The final score was 3-0. 

Union was out shot in the match 12-9. Union's Kristen Francis and West Alabama's Jenni Aarniva both collected five saves. 

Up next for Union is another GSC road game against University of Alabama in Hunstville Sunday, October 15 at 1:00 p.m.
