CARROLLTON, Ga. – The Union University Bulldogs fell on the road to the University of West Georgia, 87-83. Union trailed at the half, 41-34, and outscored the Wolves 49-46 in the second half, but UWG would hold out for the win.

WHAT HAPPENED
- Union was able to score in their first possession of the ball game to take a 2-0 lead. The Bulldogs would continue to lead West Georgia until the Wolves tied the game 10-10. Union led 16-15 with 10 minutes remaining in the first half when UWG went on a 13-0 run to lead by 12 points, 28-16. Tray Boyd broke up the run with a three pointer to cut the lead, 28-19. West Georgia would hold the lead the rest of the first half to go to halftime with a 41-34 lead.
- The Bulldogs came back from halftime with some fire, and would tie the game 47-47 on a Boyd 3-pointer. For the rest of the second half, the team would go back and forth with neither team taking a significant lead.
- Union led 76-75 when West Georgia went on an 8-0 run to take a five point lead, 81-76, with 29 seconds left in the game. KC Goodwin would break it up with a layup to cut the lead to 81-78. A foul on the Bulldogs would give the Wolves two free shots at the foul like to take their lead back up to five, 83-78. Again, Goodwin was able to score to keep Union in the game, 83-80, with 10 seconds left. West Georgia would outlast the Bulldogs to take the game 87-83.

West Georgia led Union 19-8 in points off turnovers and 37-6 in bench points to propel the Wolves to the win.

- Union shot 41 percent from the field, 36 percent (11-for-31) from long range, and 80 percent (12-for-15) from the free throw line.
- West Georgia shot 51 percent from short range, 55 percent (12-for-22) from three, and 81 percent (17-for-21) from the foul line.

- Tray Boyd led Union with 25 points followed by Jarad Scott with 22 points. KC Goodwin (13) and Charlie Wilson (11) were also in double figures. Scott would solidify his sixth double-double of the season with his 12 boards.
- West Georgia was led by Christian Houston with 14 points followed by Stephaun Branch and Willie Evans with 13 points each. Three other Wolves were also in double figures.
