DURANT, Okla. – The Union University Lady Bulldog volleyball team split on their first day of regular season competition. In Union's first game at the South Central Classic, Union fell 3-0 (25-19, 25-13, 25-23) to Southeastern Oklahoma State University. The Lady Bulldogs pulled of their first win of the season in their second game on the day. Union took down Texas A&M International University 3-1 (25-21, 28-26, 26-24, 26-24).
 
Southeastern Oklahoma out-killed the Lady Bulldogs 45-17 in Union's first regular season match. SOSU also led the Lady Bulldogs, 57-34, in digs. 
Deja Moorer, 
Katie O'Malley, and 
Christa Karns all had three kills in the match. 
Hannah Huguley helped Union with 17 assists, and 
Audrey Cagle added 15 digs in the match. Southeastern Oklahoma had two players with 10 kills each to get the win.
 
The Lady Bulldogs got their first win of the 2016 season against Texas A&M International after falling the first set, but pulled off the comeback win to take the match, 3-1. In the win, Moorer led Union with 14 kills on the offensive side, helped by Huguley's 40 assists. Moorer and Cagle also added 14 digs in the match.
 
The Lady Bulldogs will be back in action September 3 for day two of the South Central Classic as they take on East Central University at 12pm and Southern Arkansas at 2pm.
