JACKSON, Tenn. – Union University's men's basketball team shined in their first exhibition game of the season in a 139-108 homecoming win over Rhodes College.

WHAT HAPPENED
- Union exploded for 139 points in the game, 69 in the first half and 70 in the second half. The game was fast paced with Rhodes subbing in five new players every couple of minutes and pressing the entire game.
- Rhodes jumped out to an 8-4 lead to start the game. Union answered with a 13-0 run to take the lead for good.
- Union extending the lead to double figures, 37-25 following in a 3-pointer from Ashanti Day.
- Union led by as many as 21 points in the first half. Charlie Wilson's dunk with 2:07 left put Union up 63-42.
- Union led 69-49 at the half.
- Union's largest lead of the game was 37 points, 121-84, with 5:42 left in the game.

- Union had six runs of at least nine points in the game and shot 65 percent from the field.

- Union shot 65 percent from the field, 35 percent (9-26) from long range and 78 percent (28-26) from the free throw line.
- Rhodes shot 41 percent from the field, 34 percent (21-62) from 3-point range and 69 percent (11-16) from the free throw line.
- Union out rebounded Rhodes 62-26 and led in points in the paint, 78-34.
PLAYER STATS
- Charlie Wilson led all scorers with 35 points and was 17-of-19 from the field.
- Five other Union players reached double figures including Bennett Fuzak (19), Nick Velasquez (16), Ashanti Day (16), Alex Keel (16) and Tray Boyd (11). Day completed the double double with 11 rebounds.
- Rhodes was led by Nywanda with 19, Sullivan with 17 and Galvin with 13.
