JACKSON, Tenn. - The No. 21 Union University Lady Bulldogs pulled off the win, 60-56, over the Christian Brothers Lady Bucs Tuesday. Union trailed 32-23 going at the end of the first half, but outscored CBU in both the third and fourth quarters to help the Lady Bulldogs to the win.

WHAT HAPPENED
	- Union started the first quarter with three turnovers on their first three possessions, and Christian Brothers was able to capitalize to take a 4-0 lead. The Lady Bulldogs were able to work back to tie the Lady Bucs 4-4. CBU finished the first half leading Union 18-10 while going 4-for-6 from long range.
 
	- The Lady Bulldogs started to gain some momentum in the second quarter going on an eight point run to only trail Christian Brothers 23-21. The Lady Bucs responded with a 7-0 run of their own to extend their lead, 30-21.
 
	- Going into the half, Union trailed 32-23. The Lady Bulldogs shot just 43 percent from the field while going 0-for-7 from three in the first half. Jada Perkins led the way with 11 points and Fredi Nielsen with six rebounds. Christian Brothers was led by Samantha Reeves with 11 points followed by Madison Luckett with 10 points.
 
	- With just under four minutes left in the third quarter, Union was able to get within two points of CBU to trail 37-35 thanks to a jumper from Jada Smith. A defensive rebound by Bethany Lytle gave a spark to the Lady Bulldogs. Lytle passed the ball to Tiffany Rechis who banked a shot from behind the arc to give Union the lead 38-37. The Lady Bulldogs ended the third quarter with a 42-41 lead, and outscored the Lady Bucs 19-9 in the quarter.
 
	- Both teams went back and forth in the fourth quarter. Trailing by one point, Rechis hit her second three of the night to give Union a 52-50 lead with just over three minutes left in regulation. CBU was able to come back to tie the game 52-52 on a layup by Courtney Banks. 
 
	- Union started to pull away with a layup from Bethany Lytle and Jada Smith to lead 56-52, but a 3-pointer by Christian Brothers put them within a point of the Lady Bulldogs, 56-55, with 17 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Bethany Lytle and Jada Smith each banked a free throw to give Union a three point lead, 58-55. The Lady Bulldogs were able to pull off the hard fought win 60-56 over the Lady Bucs.
 
STAT OF THE GAME
Union held a lead just over seven minutes in the game compared to Christian Brother's 30:44 with the lead. 
TEAM STATS
	- Union shot 42 percent (22-for-53) from the field, 24 percent (4-for-17) from long range, and 57 percent (12-for-21) from the free throw line.
 
	- Christian Brothers shot 43 percent (23-for-54) from the field, 35 percent (8-for-23) from 3-point range, and 50 percent (2-for-4) from the free throw line.
 
	- Union dominated Christian Brothers 18-9 on points off turnovers, and 28-18 points in the paint. The Lady Bucs had 20 bench points while the Lady Bulldogs had just 11 points from their bench. 
 
PLAYER STATS
	- Jada Perkins led Union with 18 points followed by Jada Smith and Bethany Lytle with 11 points each. Perkins also posted her first double-double of her career with 10 rebounds. 
 
	- Samantha Reeves led the way for Christian Brothers with 22 points. Madison Luckett added 12 points and led with nine rebounds for the Lady Bucs.

Union will take on Fisk University in their final non-conference matchup of the season Friday, December 2 at 6 p.m.
