HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Union University men's basketball team stepped out of regular season play for one final exhibition game of the 2016-17 season. Union fell 60-44 at the University of Southern Mississippi Friday night at Reed Green Coliseum. The game counted as a regular season game for Southern Mississippi.

 WHAT HAPPENED
- Union never led in the game, but stayed close for the majority of the game.Â
- Union trailed 27-20 at the half, and had the Golden Eagles within single digits again with just over five minutes left in the game.Â
- A late flurry by USM extended their lead to a game-high 16 points.Â
- Union failed to hit a field goal for the final 3:05 of the game.Â
- Union is still playing without starting post player Charlie Wilson, who was injured in the season opening game for the Bulldogs.Â
