LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The Union University volleyball team had their two-match winning streak snapped Friday night at the University of West Alabama in a 3-0 (25-14, 25-13, 29-27) loss.

WHAT HAPPENED
- West Alabama scored the first two points and eight of the first nine in route to the 25-14 opening set win.
- The second set was much the same as UWA led Union 6-2 early. Union got as close at 10-9 but never led. With West Alabama leading 13-11, the Tigers scored 12 of the final 14 points to take the 2-0 lead.
- Set three started much different with Union taking the first two points out of the gate and pushed out to an 17-8 lead.
- West Alabama then stormed back with a 12-1 run to take a 20-18 lead. Union answered with three straight points to stop the run and take a 21-20 lead.
- Union held set points at 24-22 and 25-24 but could not get the win. West Alabama completed the improbable comeback with a 29-27 victory.
- West Alabama recorded 11 aces in the match.

- With Union leading 17-8 in the third set, West Alabama posted a 12-1 run to take the lead.
POSTMATCH STATS
- Union had won two straight matches entering the match at West Alabama, including an upset win over #22 West Florida.
- Union won the previous meeting at West Alabama to close out the season last year, 3-2.
- The reigning GSC Freshman of the Week, Katie O'Malley, led Union with 10 kills. Hannah Huguley led with 27 assists and Audrey Cagle with 12 digs. Four Union players had one aces each and three players had one block each.
- West Alabama was led by Johnson with 17 kills and four aces, while Murphy led with 32 assists and Ames led with nine digs.
