JACKSON, Tenn.. – The Union University volleyball team defeated the University of Alabama in Huntsville 3-2 (25-17, 25-23, 11-25, 13-25, 15-9) Union led 2-0 before UAH forced a fifth set.

WHAT HAPPENED
- Union opened the first set with four straight points and led by as many as eight points, 13-5. Union never trailed in the first set and won 25-17.
- Union scored the first two points in the second set, but Alabama Huntsville answered with three straight to take their first lead of the night, 3-2. With Union leading 10-9, the Lady Bulldogs scored five straight, followed by five straight points from UAH. The teams went back and forth with Union edging the Chargers 25-23 to go up 2-0.
- The third and forth sets were all Alabama Huntsville. The Chargers started the third set with a 6-1 run and won 25-11. The fourth set had UAH scoring the first four points as they controlled the set to win 25-13.
- In the fifth set, Union scored the first five points and led 7-2. UAH cut their deficit to 8-6 and 9-7, but got no closer. Union scored six of the next eight points to close out the set.

POSTMATCH STATS
- Union's Deja Moorer and Suheily Colon-Rodriguez led with 11 kills each. Moorer moved to within 64 kills of 1,000 for her career. She has had three straight double figure kill outings and four in her last five matches.
- Hannah Huguley led with 42 assists and added six blocks. Colon-Rodriguez led with seven blocks.
- UAH led the match in kills (52-49), aces (10-6), digs (77-68), blocks (20-18) and points (72-64).
