JACKSON, Tenn.. – The Union University volleyball team fell to Shorter (Ga.) University 3-1 (25-17, 25-23, 26-28, 25-23). This was Union's first home match since October 4, a span of eight matches.

WHAT HAPPENED
- The first set was close until Shorter used a 8-3 run to pull out to an 18-11 lead. Union answered with four straight points, but lost the set 25-17.
- The second set was all Union early as the Lady Bulldogs worked their way to a 19-13 lead. However, Shorter stormed back, outscoring Union 12-4 over the remainder of the set, including the last four points, to win 25-23.
- In the third set, it was Shorter that allowed a lead to slip away. The Lady Hawks led 15-9 and again 18-13 before Union rallied. Union took the lead at 23-22. Shorter scored two straight to get to match point, 24-23. Shorter again had match point at 25-24, but Union scored four of the final five points and won 28-26.
- The fourth set had Union scoring three straight points and five of the first six to lead 5-1. Shorter responded and led 20-17. Union answered and pulled to within one point at 23-22 and 24-23. Shorter ended the match with the 25-23 win.

- The teams combined for 26 service errors in the match, including a season high 16 by Union.
POSTMATCH STATS
- Deja Moorer finished with 14 kills, her second best total of the year. She is just 75 kills away from 1,000 for her career.
- Hannah Huguley, who recent surpassed 2,000 career assists, knotted over 40 assists in her second straight match with 41 versus Shorter. She now is the all-time assists leader at Union since joining NCAA Division II in 2012.
- Suheily Colon-Rodriguez posted her career high at Union with 13 kills.
- With her five blocks versus Shorter, McKenna Carter now has 12 blocks in her last two matches.
