JACKSON, Miss. – The Union University volleyball team broke a five game slide with a 3-1 win at Mississippi College Saturday afternoon.

WHAT HAPPENED
- Union opened up the game with the first two points with the set moving into a back and forth contest with neither team leading by more than two point until Union scored five straight points for a 15-9 lead.
- Union stretched their lead to 19-11, holding onto the lead to take the first set 25-18.
- MC gained the momentum in the second set opening up a 6-1 lead over Union.
- The Lady Bulldogs then tied the game at 7-7 following five straight points.
- With both teams tied at 12-12, MC opened up a 10-1 lead for the 22-13 lead and held on to take the second set 25-19.
- The third set opened with back and forth scoring before Union pulled ahead to 18-13.
- The Lady Bulldogs then finished off the set with an 8-2 run to close out the third set and take the 2-1 lead in the match.
- Union kept that momentum going into the fourth set to open up a 5-2 lead.
- The Lady Choctaws worked their way back to find themselves in the lead, 11-9.
- Union then went on a 9-1 run to lead 20-14 looking to close out the match, but the Lady Choctaws pulled within one point of the lead 21-20 looking for force a fifth set.
- Union finished the set with three straight points including the match winning points on back to back aces from Hannah Huguley.
STAT OF THE GAME
- After recording her 2000th career assist in last night's match, Hannah Huguley posted 45 assists in today's match, one off of her season high of 46.
POSTMATCH STATS
- Katie O'Malley led the Bulldogs with 15 kills in the contest, tying her career high. Deja Moorer added 12 kills in the match.
- Taylor Chiaro led the match with 24 digs, 10 more than her previous career high.
- McKenna Carter led the Bulldogs with seven blocks, also a season high for the senior.
- The win breaks a five game losing streak for the Lady Bulldogs.
