JACKSON, Tenn.- The Union University women's soccer team fell in a close match against No. 6 Lee University 1-0 Sunday afternoon. Union moves to 3-4-2 on the season and 3-2-1 in Gulf South Conference action.
The first half so no goals from either team, but outstanding defense from the Lady Bulldogs and their keeper
Kristen Francis who tallied four exceptional saves for Union to keep the game scoreless.Â
Lee scored the game winner in the 86th minute when Kinsey Cichowitz scored on a second chance of the rebounded shot from teammate Summer Latner.
Union had trouble creating opportunities all afternoon with just four  shots compared to 21 from the Flames.Â
Francis finished the match with eight saves for a total of 50 on the season.
Union continues the home stretch Friday, October 7th, hosting Alabama Huntsville at 5:00 p.m.
