HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Union University softball team went 3-1 at the University of Alabama in Huntsville's Charger Chill Out over the weekend. Union lost 8-0 to NCAA DII No. 9 North Georgia and then defeated Ferris State 6-2 Friday. Union swept the Saturday games by defeating Southern Arkansas 9-4 and St. Joseph's 6-2.
No. 9 North Georgia 8, Union 0
Six late runs by North Georgia opened the game up after they scored two early runs in the second inning.
Kelly Robey took the loss, allowing six runs on six hits in 5.1 innings. Union's
Caylee Crews had the team's only hit.
Union 6, Ferris State 2
Union scored two runs in the first and then tacked on a pair of runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to seal the win.

Alex Williams and
Whitney Christian each had two hits. Williams had four RBI in the game. Williams also earned the win with 4.1 innings of work, allowing two runs on hits.
Union 9, Southern Arkansas 4
Robey tossed a complete game for the win, allowing four runs on five hits with 11 strikeouts in the game.
Caylee Crews led with three RBI while Schrader added two. Cross and Christian led Union with two hits.
Union 6, St. Joseph's 2
Alex Williams got her second win of the classic with 5.1 innings of work, allowing two runs on five hits. Robey earned the save tossing the final 1.2 innings of scoreless relief. Union tacked on two runs in the seventh inning to push the final margin to 6-2. Schrader, Williams and Carder Mansolino led Union with two hits each. Mansolino smacked two home runs in the game and led with three RBI. Williams also hit a home run, adding two RBI.
