PENSECOLA, Fla. – The Union University Lady Bulldog volleyball team was swept at West Florida 3-0 (25-9, 25-10, 25-9). The Lady Argos maintained their perfect conference record at 7-0, and improved to 14-2 on the season. Union dropped to 4-9 on the season and 3-4 in conference play.
 
West Florida jumped out to a 5-0 lead to start the first set. The Lady Argos ran away with the set after that. The Lady Bulldogs had just five kills in the set compared to West Florida's 14 kills. The second set started better for Union. The Lady Bulldogs started on top and held with the Lady Argos early. West Florida tied Union at 4-4, and took off with the set after scoring 11 straight points. The Lady Bulldogs scored only 10 points in the set, with just seven total kills.
 
Again, the third set went in the Lady Argos favor. Union led West Florida 3-2 thanks to a couple service aces from Ceciley Blanchard, but that would be the only lead of the set for the Lady Bulldogs. Union had five kills in the set on 18 attempts.
 
Abby Schebel led the Lady Bulldogs with eight kills and had a 0.313 attaching percentage for the match. Hannah Huguley added 14 assists for Union. The Lady Argos were helped with seven kills from Corisha Smith, 23 assists from Monique StCyr, and seven digs from Tori Martella.
 
Union has one more road match October 6 against Lee University before returning home October 9 to take on the University of West Alabama at 7 pm.
