JACKSON, Tenn.- The Union University men's soccer team dropped a conference game to No. 21 University of Alabama Huntsville. Union fell to 1-7 in regular season matches and 0-4 in Gulf South Conference games, while Alabama Huntsville improves to 8-2 in the regular season and 3-1 in conference play.

Union played a very good first half and was able to go into halftime tied at 0-0 with Alabama Huntsville who came into the game ranked No. 21Â in the NCAA Division II poll. Union was able to outshoot Alabama Huntsville 5-4 in the half.

The lone goal of the game came in the 76
th minute of play when Alabama Huntsville's Mitch Wilson was able to net a very long shot into the top of the goal from the middle of the field. Union was not able to answer the late goal.

Matt Kesler had a solid night facing 14 shots and recording four saves while only allowing one goal. Union was lead by
Nil Cierco and
Trey Scogin with three shots apiece.

Next up for Union will be another conference game when they visit Mississippi College on Friday, October 10
th, at 3:00 p.m. Union will then travel to Delta State on Sunday, October 12
th, with that match taking place at 3:30 p.m.Â
