JACKSON, Tenn.- The Union University men's soccer team dropped their last game of the season to No. 16 Christian Brothers University 1-0 Friday night at Smith Soccer Complex. Union finished their season 2-7 in Gulf South Conference play and 3-11 overall. Christian Brothers improved to 8-1 in conference and 14-2 overall.
Union came into the game with a two game streak, with both wins coming against conference opponents last weekend, but had their hands full with a Christian Brothers team that came into the match ranked No. 16 in the nation.
Christian Brothers was able to jump out to an early lead in the 25
th minute of play when Shane Keely beat the defender to put one into the back of net.
After the first goal of the match by Christian Brothers, Union was able to execute some impressive defensive play that helped them win last weekend. That defense lasted throughout the second half. However, Union was not able to put a goal on the board and the match ended with the 1-0 final.

Taylor Smith had another good match recording six saves, facing 17 shots and only allowing one goal. CBU outshot Union 17-8, including 10-2 in the first half. Union's
Rodrigo Zonta led the Bulldogs with four shots.
