Box Score FLORENCE, Ala.- The Union University women's soccer team lost a conference match Tuesday night at the University of North Alabama 5-0. Union fell to 2-10 in regular season play and 0-8 in the Gulf South Conference. North Alabama improved to 10-2-1 in regular season competition and 7-2 in conference play.
Union continues to play extremely short-handed with seven key players, including five starters out with injury.
Honeye Heydari, Union's leading goal scorer,
Kristen Francis, Union's starting goalie, and
Alex Taylor, Union's key defender, are among those out with injury.
North Alabama's Chloe Richards netted four goals on the night for the Lions. Those goals came in the 11th, 31st, 64th, and 70th minutes. Susan Lang, Allie Urbanek, and Alyssa Bova earned the assists on the first three goals and Richards was able to take care of fourth and final goal by herself. Richards has 22 goals on the season.
North Alabama's last goal of the match came courtesy of Abby Cavitt in the 83rd minute of play off the pass from Erica Cervi.
Union's only shots on the night came from sophomore
Kelsey Wilkes with a total of two, both coming in the second half.
The Lady Bulldogs will return home this weekend to take on Shorter (Ga.) University Friday, October 24th, at 5:00 p.m. and Lee University October 26th, at 2:00 p.m.
