VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Union University women's soccer team fell 2-0 at Valdosta State University Saturday. Union dropped to 2-9 on the season and 0-7 in the Gulf South Conference. Valdosta State improved to 6-5-1 overall and 6-1-1 in league play.
Valdosta State, currently in third place in the GSC standings just three points behind West Alabama, scored their first goal in the 33
rd minute play when Malin Hegeler scored an unassisted goal. The score was 1-0 at the half. In the 69
th minute of play, Valdosta State added the final goal when Margaret Stauffer's corner kick deflected off the Union keeper and found the back of the net.
The loss for Union extended their losing skid to seven games.
Valdosta State outshot the injury-plagued Union squad 15-3 in the match, including 7-1 in the first half.

Elizabeth Clark, and
Sarah Hershbain each recorded one shot for Union.
Emily Waggoner played all 90 minutes in goal for Union, recording four saves. Olivia Mills earned three saves in her 83 minutes of work. McCall Gardner played the last seven minutes in goal for Valdosta State.
Up next for Union will be another road conference contest at North Alabama, Tuesday, October 21.
