JACKSON, Tenn. - The Union University men's soccer team dropped a home match Friday night 3-0 to Christian Brothers University at Smith Memorial Soccer Complex. Union, still searching for their first home victory of the season, dropped to 3-3-1 on the season and 1-3-1 in the Gulf South Conference. The Bucs improved to 3-4 overall and 2-3 in league play.

Jose Ferraz put Christian Brothers in front with assists to Shaun Abbott and Ralph Velasco. The goal from Ferraz delivered at 8:17 provided the 1-0 halftime score. Christian Brothers took 11 of their 15 shots in the first half. Union managed only three shots in the opening period, eight for the match.

At the 52:05 point Abbott got an unassisted goal to put Christian Brothers up 2-0. Tony Aloia fed Matt Derise for the final goal in the 71
st minute for the 3-0 final.

In the last two games, both losses, Union has taken 13 total shots. Union managed a combined four shots in the first half of each of those two contests. Â

Union takes to the road for their next three games. The Bulldogs have fared well in away games to this point, posting a 3-1 mark. First up is a trip to Cleveland, Miss. on Sept. 29 for a 3:30 p.m. game against Delta State University.
