LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Union University men's soccer suffered a tough loss in a 3-2 defeat at the University of West Alabama. Union dropped to 3-2-1 on the season and 1-2-1 in Gulf South Conference action. West Alabama remained undefeated at 5-0-1 and 2-0-1 in the GSC.
With the game a little more than four minutes old, the Tigers went on top with a goal by Clay Green off a dish from Traye Torrance. The early score made the difference at halftime with the Tigers in front 1-0. West Alabama kept Union goalkeeper

Connor Burns knotted the score 1-1 at the 50:16 mark to get Union back to level. A pass from William Artiga led to a Vitor Gazza goal for West Alabama in the 67
th minute to regain the lead 2-1.
Alex Pratt made the score 2-2, recording his third goal of the season at 72:37 pounding a penalty kick past West Alabama goalkeeper Evan Pidgeon.
The score did not last as Pidgeon with a sense of urgency as time rapidly elapsed off the game clock, played a quick ball out. The ball eventually found the feet of Green, who parked a shot into the top left corner of the goal late in the 87
th minute for the game-winner 3-2.
West Alabama outshot Union 15-5. Ten of the Tigers 15 shots were on goal. The Bulldogs made on three on goal attempts. West Alabama took six corner kicks, Union one.
The Bulldogs return home for their next game Friday, Sept. 27 at the Smith Soccer Complex. Union will host Christian Brothers (Memphis, Tenn.) University to begin Family Weekend festivities on the Jackson, Tenn. campus.
