JACKSON, Tenn. – The Union University women's soccer team posted a 1-0 double-overtime win over Freed-Hardeman University Tuesday night at Smith Soccer Complex. Union improved to 5-5-2 overall, while Freed-Hardeman dropped to 3-7-2 on the season.

Union dominated the first half, outshooting Freed-Hardeman 10-1. However, the Lady Bulldogs were not able to find the back of the net. Abbey Adkins recorded two saves for Freed-Hardeman during the first half. Union won the shots battle 6-2 in the second half and 4-0 in the two overtime periods.

It was not until early in the second overtime that Union was able to break the scoreless tie. Alex Taylor got a quick shot off right at the start of the overtime period for Union, but the fourth save of the night by Adkins of Freed-Hardeman kept the match going. But just a few seconds later, at the 100:34 mark, Whitney Kramer was able to break free and score the goal for Union.

Emily Waggoner recorded no saves in the shutout as Freed-Hardeman managed just three shots, none on goal.
