JACKSON, Tenn. – The Union University women's soccer team fell 1-0 to Valdosta State (Ga.) University Saturday afternoon at Smith Soccer Complex. Union dropped to 6-7-2 on the season and 1-5-2 in the Gulf South Conference. Valdosta State improved to 11-2-2 overall and 4-1-1 in league play.
 
In addition to being held scoreless for the match, Union was not able to record a shot in the match. Valdosta State recorded seven shots in both the first and second halves. Union's defense however was able to keep the match scoreless for nearly 75 minutes. Emily Waggoner recorded eight saves in the match for Union.
 
Lauren Hale of Valdosta State final broke through the Union defense and scored the match's only goal. She was assisted by Erin Hill.
 
Up next for Union will be a home match Monday, October 22 versus West Georgia at 4:00 p.m.
