Ben Hall is a senior member of the men's cross country team. Is a political science major, English minor, and is from Jackson, Tenn.

What type of pets do you have?
I have two dogs; a Jack Russell Terrier named Scott who is a stone-cold killer and an American Boxer named Bo, who is as sweet as his name sounds.

My favorite superhero is...
Batman because he’s not really a superhero, but rather, he sacrifices himself to protect others.

The best word to describe myself would be...
loyal

On what drives me...
It is the desire to live a life that is Christ-honoring and selfless.

My athletic goals are...
To be the best teammate I can be, to uplift those around me, to encourage, and to set an example of work ethic and kindness to my teammates.  And if it works out, to be faster than I was last year.

Who do you admire?
I admire my grandfather.  He’s my role model of what being a Godly gentleman, husband, and father entails.

The traits I am most attracted to in others are...
Compassion, modesty, and sense of humor.  Also humility; not taking yourself too seriously makes relationships a lot easier.

The kindest thing anyone has done for me…
It was at a youth trip. I was with a group of guys on a porch who were making fun of me, so I got up and started walking towards the lodge. I turned around about a quarter mile down the road to find my late friend Sam Bomar who had left the group to come find me, and the two of us went and watched a football game together. I still haven’t forgotten that.

How do you want to be remembered?
I want to be remembered simply as someone that put others before myself, that was selfless and compassionate.

If I were to speak at my high school…
“You never know how your words can impact those around you. You can become someone’s hero or end up becoming someone’s biggest source of grief just by how you talk to them. So be kind and uplift each other. Also, high school is filled with people trying to figure out who they are. They’ll either find that in Christ or in the world. The easiest way to find yourself is to work at your faith but the quickest way to lose yourself is to  choose the world and the lies it tells you are important.”
