2011...played in 33 matches and 117 sets...recorded 328 kills and 27 blocks...was named TranSouth Freshman of the Year and named to the first team all-conference. 2012...played in 127 sets...recorded 308 kills, 70 digs, 30 blocks...named Gulf South Academic Honor Roll. 2013...played in 76 sets...recorded 129 kills and 18 blocks...named Gulf South Conference Academic Honor roll, a NCCAA Fall Scholar Athlete, and awarded with the D2ADA Academic Achievement Award. 2014... played in 72 sets... recorded 145 kills... GSC Academic Honor Roll.
Before UnionHughes prepped at Valley View (Ark.) High School where she played four years of volleyball. She also played eight seasons of volleyball for the Arkansas Junior Olympic program. Hughes helped lead Valley View to the Arkansas 4A State Title in 2008 and 2010. They finished as state runner-up in 2007 and 2009. Hughes was named MVP of the 4A state tournament as a senior. During her career, she was named all-conference, all-state and all-state tournament three times each. Hughes tallied 316 kills and 56 blocks as a senior. As a junior, she recorded 392 kills, 71 blocks, 57 aces and 159 digs, while getting 311 kills, 42 blocks and 42 aces as a sophomore. Off the court, Hughes was an honors graduate, a member of the National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Students, and Health Occupation Students of America.
