Kimberly Wade began as the volleyball assistant coach for the Union University Lady Bulldogs in 2013. Wade was born in Florida, but has most recently lived in Collierville, Tenn.Â

Wade came to Union after spending five years as the head varsity coach at Ridgeway High School in Memphis. She developed the first competitive urban high school freshman volleyball program in 2008. In 2009, her freshman team finished undefeated, while the varsity team finished as league champions and second round finalist in the district tournament. From 2009 through 2012 at Ridgeway, Wade coached eight all-tournament players, three Best of the Preps players, and two college signees.

Wade was also very active in competitive club volleyball as a coach and trainer since 2000. She contributed to the successful development of multiple college signees receiving scholarships to NCAA DI, DII, and NAIA programs.

In 2000, Wade received her USAV Delta Region Certification. She also holds certifications from the American Sport Education Program (ASEP) in coaching principles, TSSAA Training, and AAU Coaching.

Wade is a 2006 graduate of Christian Brothers University with a bachelors of arts degree in human development. She played four seasons of volleyball at Christian Brothers as a defensive specialist and outside hitter positions.

In 2000, she graduated from Houston High School in Memphis where she played volleyball all four seasons. She played four years of competitive club volleyball for Memphis Junior Olympic Volleyball Association. Wade also participated in competitive club swimming, basketball, and track (shot put and long jump).

She is the daughter of Jamaican natives, Leo and Sue Wade.
