Before UnionÂ
Hampel comes to Union from the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, where she played three years of basketball. She became a Southern Conference champion in 2023, when UTC defeated Wofford in the title game. Hampel's collegiate career began at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where she averaged 9.3 points and 3.8 rebounds her freshman season. She prepped at Hazel Green High School, where she ran two years of track and played four seasons of basketball. In 2018, Hampel was named MVP of the State Championship Tournament, as her team won the title. She collected several other accolades in high school, including Miss Alabama Basketball nominee (2018), First Team All-State (2017, 2018), Tennessee vs. Alabama All-Star game (2018), and North vs. South Alabama All-Star game (2018).Â
Off the court, Hampel was a member of the honor roll (2015-18) and the honor society (2017-18).

Born March 3...Daughter of Benita and Larry Hampel...Sister of Union volleyball player Hannah Hampel and Alabama-Huntsville track athlete Grace Hampel.
