Before Union
Barahona prepped at North Side (Tenn.) High School where she played four seasons of soccer, two seasons of softball, and two seasons of basketball. Barahona was named MVP in soccer, earned All-West Tennessee honorable mention, was selected as her school's Female Athlete of the Year for the Jackson Madison County Sports Hall of Fame, and led her team in goals scored. For her career, she tallied 44 goals, 16 coming in her senior year. She added 51 career assists, with her season best coming as a sophomore with 16. Off the field, Barahona was a part of the Air Force Junior ROTC program where she finished top 1% of cadets. She earned the Junior ROTC Outstanding Citizenship Award and graduated with scholars. She was a member of the Beta Club, named Most Likely to Succeed in College, elected to North Side HS Hall of Fame, elected Who's Who, graduate with honors, had artwork selected to be displayed at the Jackson Madison County School Board Room, won first place with drill team and color guard, won first place in state Skills USA Robotics competition, and was the Spanish Club president.
