Beth Wilson joined Union in the fall of 2014 as the assistant cross country coach. Prior to coaching at Union, Wilson spent two seasons as a runner for Union’s women’s team.

Raised in Kingwood, Texas near Houston. Wilson competed in track and cross country at her high school for four years before attending Texas A&M University where she completed her Bachelor’s in Communication in three years. She met her husband, Lee, at A&M and the two were married in 2005.

The Wilson’s spent their first three years in Louisville, Ky., where her husband received his Master’s of Divinity from Southern Seminary. In 2008, they moved to Jackson, where Lee accepted a role in the University Ministries Office as the Director of Discipleship and Spiritual Formation. They have been actively involved in their church, City Fellowship, since the church’s beginning in 2008.

In February of 2009, the Wilsons welcomed their firstborn daughter, Abigail, into their family. In October 2010, they welcomed their second child, William.

After a ten-year hiatus and two kids later, Wilson started running again. In 2012, as a mother of two, she joined Union’s Cross Country team while pursuing her MBA. As an athlete, Wilson was the top finisher on Union’s team in the 2013 season. Wilson continues to be actively involved in the local running community and competed in the 2014 Boston Marathon.

For Wilson, running and running well brings great joy to the athlete and glory to God who gave each of us our gifts.  She completed her MBA in 2014 and looks forward to this role alongside Coach Johnson.
