Biography

Before Union
Bates prepped at DeKalb County High School where she played softball for four years, cheered for four years, and played basketball for one year. In softball, she was named all-district once and was a cheer All-American. The helped lead her team to four district titles, four district tournament titles, four sub-state appearances, three state tournament appearances and one state semifinal appearance. Off the field, Bates was a member of the Beta Club, Literature Club, Science Club, was on the honor roll all four years, and was ranked 18th in her class.
