Before Union 
Taylor transferred to Union following his time at Wabash Valley Community College, where he was named All-Conference. His freshman season was played at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Taylor prepped at Milwaukee Academy of Science, where he was a four-year varsity starter. He was named to the All-State Team three times and was a part of the 1000 Point Club.
