Biography

Before Union
Sanders is a transfer from East Mississippi Community College where she played two season of softball. She played in the NICAA Junior College All-Star Game and was named to the all-division and all-state teams. She helped her team to a number one spot in the North Division. As a freshman, Sanders had the highest batting average with .358, most runs scored with 37, and most stolen bases with 22 in 23 attempts. As sophomore, she had 18 stolen bases, 34 runs scored, and a batting average of .343. Sanders prepped at New Hope High School were she played four seasons of softball. She was a three-time all-state and all-district and two-time all-North division first team outfielder. She received the Mississippi Pop Star Award. As a senior, she participated in the Mississippi All-Star Game. She helped her high school team to a slow-pitch state championship, north sate championship, district championship, and a national championship. She also helped New Hope to a fast pitch district and north state titles. As a senior, Sanders had a batting average of .575 and a fielding percentage of .997 percent in slow pitch.
