Paige Murray

Paige Murray is entering her third season after being named the Union University softball program assistant coach in December 2018. Murray comes to Union after spending the fall of 2018 as the assistant coach at Caldwell Parish High School. 

In addition to her time as a high school assistant coach, Murray coached the Bullet NELA 12U and 14U travel ball teams in the fall of 2018. She also worked as a pitching coach to 7-14 year-olds from 2012 through 2018. 

Murray is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Monroe. She earned a B.S. degree in mathematics in 2017 and then followed up with a B.S. degree in computer science in 2018.

Murray played four years at the NCAA D1 level at Louisiana-Monroe. She was named to the Commissioner's List and Academic Honor Roll. Murray tossed a perfect game in 2016 versus Gambling State and a complete game shutout against Abilene Christian to send her team to the 2017 NISC Region title game. She tossed 185 innings as a senior with the lowest number of walks per seven innings on the team. 

Murray prepped at S&S Consolidated High School where she graduated in 2014. She was a four-year starter in softball and earned two letters in volleyball. Murray was named first team all-district pitcher and academic all-district all four years. She was also named academic all-state. She set a school record for strikeouts by a freshman with 197 and holds the season strikeout record with 237. As a senior, she also hit .600 at the plate. 

The Texas native, Murray, is the wife of Garrett Murray and the daughter of Rick and Holly Porter.
