Before Union
Hirte prepped at Pinckeyville Community High School where he ran four years of cross country, four years of track and field, and was on the swim team. He helped lead his team to the conference and region titles in cross country. Hirte was named MVP of his cross country team and was also named all-conference. Off the course, Hirte was voted class secretary and class treasurer during his high school career.Â
