Blackwood prepped at Buckhorn high school where he participated in Track and XC for all four years. Blackwood holds Indoor track records in the 1600, 4x8 , and 4x4. He also holds outdoor track records in the 3200 4x800 and 2k steeple chase. In the classroom he was a member on National Honors Society.Â
