Christian Goodwin

Christian Goodwin joined the Union University men's basketball coaching staff as a graduate assistant in August 2021. 

Goodwin spent 2019 and 2020 as the top assistant coach at American Christian Academy under head coach Blake Thrasher. In 2020, he helped lead the ACA team to the sweet 16 for the first time since the team moved to 4A in the AHSAA. 

In July 2018, Goodwin was named the varsity head basketball coach at Central Christian School. In doing so, Goodwin became the youngest varsity head coach in the state of Alabama at 20 years old. 

Goodwin is a 2021 graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in Kinesiology/Exercise Science. While at Alabama, he spent time inside the basketball program learning from his coaching mentor, Joshua Baker. 

Goodwin graduated high school from Central Christian School in 2016 where he played basketball and baseball. In basketball, he was named all-conference three times and was also the team captain three seasons. He became the sixth member in school history to reach 1,000 career points, finishing with over 1,200 points. In baseball, he was named all-conference twice and helped lead his team to two conference titles. 

Goodwin is a native of Silverhill, Alabama and is married to Rebekah. He is the son of Shane and Shannon Goodwin.
