Before Union
McMillin transferred to Union after one semester at Northeast Mississippi CC. He prepped at New Albany High School where he played baseball, basketball, and football. McMillin was named All-State and all-district and all-state. He also played in the Mississippi North-South All-Star Game. As a senior, McMillin had a 0.92 ERA with 80 strikeouts and one no-hitter. He earned the Bulldog Award at New Albany High School.
