Joe Fabre was promoted to assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Union University baseball team in July of 2019. He spent the 2018 season as the graduate assistant coach for the Bulldogs. Fabre came to Union in the August of 2018 having five years of coaching experience. He is now in his fourth season with the Bulldogs baseball program.

In 2018, Fabre was an assistant coach at conference rival Lee University where he served as the catching coach, assist with the daily pitching routine as well as coaching first base. The Flames made an appearance and finished runner up in the Gulf South Conference Tournament.

Fabre spent the 2016 and 2017 seasons as the assistant coach at Louisiana State University at Eunice (LSUE). In 2016, he worked as the catching coach and assistant hitting coach. In his two years, the Bengals posted records of 51-6 and 49-11 and were ranked as high as 13th in Perfect Games National Junior College Poll. The Bengals catcher Hunter Feduccia would also earn NJCAA Gold Glove honors and become the 11th ranked junior college prospect in the country. In 2017, he worked as the assistant pitching coach. In his two seasons spent at Eunice the program would have 20 division I signees. Four would sign with schools in the Southeastern Conference others would sign with schools in the BigTen, Sun Belt, C-USA, and Southland. Three of the players would go on to enter the Major League draft.

From 2013-2015, Fabre worked as the assistant coach at his alma mater, Lee University. He served as the assistant pitching and catching coach.

Fabre stayed busy during his summers. In 2017, he was the assistant coach for the Gresham Greywolves and in 2016 he was the assistant coach for the Victoria Harbourcats both of which are members of the West Coast Collegiate Baseball League. In his time in the Pacific Northwest, he worked with players from conferences like the PAC 12, Mountain West, Big West, Big Ten and SEC. In 2014 he worked as the pitching coach for RakeNation Baseball 18u, and in 2013 he was a camp instructor for Marucci Baseball. He also served as an assistant coach at Catholic High School of Pointe Coupee in 2012.

Fabre is a graduate of Lee University where he played two years of baseball. He helped lead the Flames to two conference titles, a conference tournament title, two region championships, and two NAIA World Series semifinal appearances. Fabre was named the Lee University Relief Pitcher of the Year in 2011.

Prior to his time at Lee, Fabre played two years at LSUE. He helped his team to the 2010 NJCAA National Title, two region titles, one NJCAA Division II World Series semifinal appearance. In his two years on the mound at LSUE, Fabre posted an 11-0 record with wins in both the regionals and world series.

Fabre and his wife, Christa, were married in June 2019. Christa is the assistant volleyball coach at Union.
