Jake Harrelson was named the Union University baseball assistant coach in July 2026. He joined Union after spending the last eight seasons in various assistant coaching roles at Shorter University.Â
During his four seasons as head assistant coach, Harrelson served as the recruiting coordinator. In 2022, he was the second assistant coach and served as the graduate assistant from 2018-2020. He was a part of leading Shorter to five straight GSC Tournaments from 2019-2024, including a runner-up finish in 2022 and a third place regular season finish in 2021.Â
Harrelson graduated in 2018 from Shorter with a Bachelor of Business Administration. In 2020, he completed his Master of Business Administration.
As a player at Shorter, Harrelson was named to the Dean's List in 2017 and 2018 and was honored as a CSC Academic All-American in 2017.Â
Harrelson is the son of Jimmy and Robin Harrelson, and has a younger brother, Reed.Â
