Colton West began his work as a graduate assistant for the Union University baseball program in the fall of 2014. He is now in his second year with the Bulldogs. West is a 2011 graduate of Rogers State (Okla.) University and is a native of Fayetteville, Ark.
West played two years at Rogers State where he hit mostly in the 3-5 spots in the lineup and played primarily at third base. He was voted as a unanimous Sooner Athletic Conference Gold Glover winner at third base as a junior. West was also named all-conference as a junior. He was selected as the SAC Player of the Week once and holds Rogers State’s single game RBI record. He is a career .340 hitter in college.
Prior to his two years at Rogers State, West played his first two years of college baseball at Arkansas Fort Smith Community College. He was a two-year starter at third base and shortstop, while also hitting in the middle of the lineup. West was named all-conference honorable mention both seasons at Fort Smith.
West is a 2007 graduate of Greenland (Ark.) High School. He was named all-state three times, All-Arkansas team, Extra Innings Showcase invitee as a junior and senior, and played in the Arkansas All-Star Game.
West is the son of Rick and Connie West. He is working to receive his Masters of Business Administration and looks to coach at the college level after graduation.
