Brent Fronabarger was named the head baseball coach at Union University for the 2005-06 season. He is now in his ninth season as the head coach of the Union University Baseball program after serving eight seasons (1996-2005) as the assistant coach.

Fronabarger led Union to four straight trips to the NAIA National Tournament Opening Round in the final four years of Union's play in the NAIA (2009-2012). He also led his teams to three TranSouth Tournament Titles during that same four-year stretch.

Fronabarger has a career record of 260-168-2 (.607). On April 15, 2010, Fronabarger recorded his 200th career win at Mid-Continent (Ky.). He notched his 100th career victory on February 27, 2009 versus Huntington (Ind.).

Under Fronabarger's leadership, Union claimed the 2011 and 2012 TranSouth Tournament titles and advanced to the NAIA National Championships Opening Round. In 2012, Union posted their best finish in the opening round, going 2-2 and finishing in third place. In 2010, Fronabarger led Union to 42 wins, his first time as a head coach to reach the 40-win mark. Union posted runner-up finishes in the regular season and conference tournament. Fronabarger also posted a milestone 2009 season as he led the team to the TranSouth Tournament Title and a trip to the NAIA National Tournament Opening Round. It was the first for both in his career.

Fronabarger received a Bachelor of Science in physical education and health from Union in 1996 and received a Master of Education degree from Union in 1998. He spent his days as the assistant coach working mostly with the pitchers. Fronabarger was named the AFLAC Assistant Coach of the Year in 2003 selected by Scholastic's Coach and Athletic Director Magazine.

In 2006, Fronabarger's first year as head coach, he led the Union Bulldogs to the NAIA Region XI Tournament, the team's first appearance since the 2002 season. Fronabarger has reached the 30-win mark six times and 40 wins once in his time at Union.

After graduating from Union in 1995, Fronabarger returned to his hometown where he helped coach the Huntingdon (Tenn.) High School Mustangs in both football and baseball during the 1996-97 seasons. In 1997, he was hired by Union as the assistant baseball coach and head of grounds. During his eight seasons as an assistant coach, Union baseball posted a win-loss record of 293-146 (.667) with two conference championships and three Region XI Tournament Appearances. The teams boasted three seasons with 40 or more wins.

Fronabarger, the 1995 Tennessee Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year, holds several Union pitching records including Most Victories in a Season (13), Most Victories in a Career (33), Most Strikeouts in a Career (306), and Most Innings in a Season (117.2). In 1995, Fronabarger led the team with the lowest earned run average (1.97) and had an incredible 11-2 record. Fronabarger was drafted out of high school by the Toronto Blue Jays.

In addition to his head coaching duties at Union, Fronabarger teaches in the Physical Education, Wellness, and Sport department.

He and his wife Sandy have two sons, Brady and Landry.
