Before Union
Ellis went to high school at Western HS where he lettered four years in baseball, three years in football and one year and basketball. In baseball, he was named the Most Valuable Player in 2013 and 2015, All-Conference 2013-2015, All-District in 2014 and 2015 and All-Region in 2014. Ellis was also named to the All-Area Dream Team in both 2014 and 2015 as well as Academic All-Conference all four years of his high school career. He holds multiple career records at Western HS including hits, doubles, singles, walks and average, while also holding the single season records for hits doubles, singles, and walks. In the classroom, Ellis was named to the Honor Roll and was a member of the National Honors Society.
