Before Union
Herring prepped at Hutchison School in Memphis where she played four seasons of varsity soccer. She also played club soccer for MidSouth F.C. (2009-12) and the 98 Lady Lobos Rush (2012-15). While at Hutchison, she helped lead her team to the Tennessee DII state title in 2014. She was named Best of the Preps three times, D2-AA All-West Region, voted Defensive Player of the Year three times and varsity captain twice. Herring was also the team captain for the 98 Lady Lobos Rush team from 2010-14. Off the field, Herring was a member of the National Spanish Honors Society, National Science Honors Society, Ascensus Society, and was named secretary, vice president and president of the Service Learning Council.

Born October 20...daughter of Tom and Shannon Herring...majoring in nursing working toward becoming a nurse practitioner.
